So you remember my short story ‘Letters to my sister’ that I put up here this month? ‘Course you do…well someone had the bright idea of putting it up on Amazon as a Kindle book, so I did. It was fun putting it together as an e-book – Kindle has these cool tools for formatting your manuscript and another really cool one for making a book cover. Needless to say I got very excited and stayed up all night trying out every different book cover they had before finally settling on one, uploading it all and waiting with baited breath to see if it got approved.
Well you’ll be happy to know that it did get approved and is now available on Kindle. It’s pretty amazing to see people downloading and reading it, leaving feedback and getting a small commission (€0.03 so far!). But for me the the biggest moment was seeing my name beside the word ‘Author’. This pic below is the screenshot I sent to my husband as soon as the story was available on the Kindle website.
I have always wanted to be a writer – even the word gives me tingles. Imagine being able to make a living from telling stories. I don’t know if it’ll happen but I sure as hell got a kick out of it this time. I’m working on another three stories right now and will keep you posted on how they are doing and when they are ready. In the meantime do download the e-book (it’s free for the next 5 days) and leave some feedback if you can 🙂
