Patchwork Blanket

I finished it! It took longer than expected but I finally got it done and I must say I am happy with how it turned out. I added a thick border around the edging to help with shape and give it some weight as the wool I used for the squares was quite light.

I leaned lots of things doing this project including how to make hearts, what K1B means (thank you YouTube!), how to do Irish moss stitch, granite stitch, bee stitch and ridge rib. I made a Pinterest board with the patterns I used and some patchwork blankets I used as inspiration – you can check it out on https://pin.it/4cjqnmrjaklanf

If you are looking for a juicy project that isn’t too difficult I’d recommend making a patchwork blanket. Any type or colour of wool and many different patterns can be used. Depending on how big your squares are you can finish a square in an hour or less so there is a lot of satisfaction and that “I completed it!” feeling 🙂
